About The Position

The Procurement Specialist – Fabric & Indirect is a highly specialized role responsible for leading all aspects of COM/COL evaluation, fabric qualification, and vendor coordination across Avenue Road’s product offering. Acting as the internal subject matter expert on textiles, this individual brings deep knowledge of fabric performance, application, and vendor requirements to proactively assess feasibility, mitigate risk, and streamline the approval process. This role partners closely with Sales, Procurement, and Client Success to ensure all fabric-related requests are vetted with precision and speed, enabling confident decision-making and an elevated client experience. A second responsibility focusses on procuring services tied to the entire organization such as logistics, marketing and professional services. The specialist collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, leads the purchasing process, and ensures compliance with company policies and procurement best practices. They also monitor supplier performance, manage risk, and analyze spending patterns to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement or related field
  • Deep knowledge of textiles, fabric performance, and vendor approval processes
  • Strong ability to assess fabric suitability and anticipate approval outcomes
  • ERP experience (SAP B1 preferred)
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the internal authority on fabrics, textiles, and COM/COL processes and act as the primary point of contact for fabric related follow-ups, escalations, and issue resolution
  • Review and assess all COM/COL requests for completeness, feasibility, and risk prior to vendor submission
  • Leverage expertise to pre-qualify fabrics, identifying potential approval challenges before engaging vendors
  • Liaise with vendors to confirm suitability, testing requirements, and lead times
  • Manage CFA submissions and approvals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with specifications
  • Own and manage relationships with fabric vendors and key manufacturing partners
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities for indirect categories
  • Monitor indirect supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies
  • Build strong partnerships to improve responsiveness, accountability, and overall service levels
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within SAP, including order status, timelines, and completion tracking
