Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing execution and supplier management for critical materials, components, and services supporting semiconductor and probe card manufacturing operations.
  • Execute sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and drive alternate sourcing capability, ramp and volume availability.
  • Support cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity outcomes.
  • Translate broader procurement strategy into execution plans and contribute input related to supplier risks, cost drivers, and short- to mid-term supply planning horizons.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Procurement and Planning to ensure supplier capability, material availability, and alignment with manufacturing requirements.
  • Execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories (e.g., precision machined components, advanced materials, MEMS-related inputs, capital equipment, or indirect spend).
  • Lead component and commodity qualification events in collaboration with engineer to establish adequate supply and capable suppliers and materials.
  • Support contract negotiation, pricing alignment, and commercial terms execution in conjunction with procurement.
  • Identify and implement cost savings and value engineering opportunities aligned with total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships within assigned categories, including strategic and high-risk suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost) and drive corrective actions as needed in collaboration with procurement.
  • Support supplier segmentation and risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering on supplier qualification, capability validation, and issue resolution.
  • Align sourcing execution with probe card and systems manufacturing requirements across wafer fab, MEMS processing, assembly, and test.
  • Ensure availability of critical materials such as specialty metals, ceramics, substrates, and precision machined components.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes (ECOs), and production ramp readiness.
  • Coordinate with planning and operations to prevent shortages and mitigate supply disruptions.
  • Drive cost reduction, supplier performance improvements, and working capital optimization within assigned categories.
  • Track and report procurement KPIs (cost savings, supplier performance, supply continuity metrics).
  • Support implementation of procurement best practices, analytics, and process improvements.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems and data analysis tools to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Finance, and Logistics to align sourcing with production and business needs.
  • Support NPI, capacity expansion, and supply readiness initiatives.
  • Provide input on supplier risks, cost drivers, and market dynamics affecting assigned categories.
  • Lead and develop a team of buyers, sourcing specialists, or category managers.
  • Establish performance expectation and provide feedback for cross functional team members.
  • Build team capability in sourcing, negotiation, supplier management, and analytics.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
