About The Position

This role supports the design, development, deployment, and monitoring of global procurement capabilities to deliver effective business solutions. Serving as a Procurement Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the GEP SMART platform, the position focuses on advanced functions such as analytics, contract lifecycle management, supplier master data, sourcing, project management, cost modeling, and integrated category management. The SME plays a critical role in optimizing processes, driving system enhancements, and ensuring successful delivery of platform functionality to end users.

Requirements

  • Business Process Improvement: Collects and analyzes data to identify process improvement opportunities. Suggests methods to reduce variation and waste. Applies experience in procurement and S2C processes to recommend improvements.
  • Data Analytics: Collects and organizes data for trend analysis. Prepares charts and reports to present findings. Leverages strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and support decisions.
  • Effective Communication: Provides constructive feedback and listens actively. Communicates clearly in presentations and reports. Demonstrates proven ability to collaborate across teams and with senior stakeholders.
  • Negotiating: Explains basic negotiation principles and techniques. Applies rapport-building strategies to foster trust. Utilizes procurement experience to support vendor and stakeholder negotiations.
  • Matrix Management: Identifies key stakeholders and reporting relationships. Understands functional boundaries and collaboration needs. Works independently while leveraging cross-functional relationships to achieve goals.
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis: Identifies key components of cost-benefit analysis. Explains basic principles and factors influencing decisions. Applies analytical skills to evaluate procurement and process improvement initiatives.
  • Category Management: Describes concepts and benefits of category management. Explains major stages of the category lifecycle. Uses procurement experience to optimize category strategies and sourcing processes.
  • Procurement Function: Explains roles and tasks within procurement. Understands policies and procedures for purchasing. Demonstrates hands-on experience with GEP QUANTUM and familiarity with ADO processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in procurement transformation projects.
  • Advanced Excel and data visualization skills.
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Knowledge of compliance and risk management in supplier onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects focused on lean processes, global market understanding, tools, and systems.
  • Design and develop solutions; collaborate with stakeholders and business users to gather Voice of Business (VOB), Voice of Customer (VOC), and business requirements; prepare implementation plans for successful deployment.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as developing standardized best practices, offerings, services, and associated tools and training.
  • Serve as a technical representative for the discipline, working directly with procurement and enterprise stakeholders, including presenting recommendations to leadership.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Source-to-Contract (S2C) functions within the GEP platform (QUANTUM).
  • Develop and document functional requirements for software enhancements and process improvements.
  • Partner with IT/development teams to ensure alignment with Azure DevOps (ADO) processes for managing enhancements and defect resolution.
  • Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all enhancements and bug fixes, ensuring quality and functionality before deployment.
  • Provide training and guidance to end users on new features and best practices; promote adoption.
  • Monitor and report on system performance and adoption; recommend improvements as needed.
