About The Position

Lockheed Martin's Missiles & Fire Control, SOF GLSS (Special Operations Forces - Global Logistic Sustainment Services) contract provide logistics and sustainment supporting multiple programs and platforms. With an established supply base around the world we are currently seeking an entry level supply chain/acquisition professional to join our Global Supply Chain team in the Lexington, KY area. Lexington, is in the heart of the Bluegrass and is the second-largest city in Kentucky, known as the "Horse Capital of the World". Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in a related discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking/ problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and within a
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The qualified candidate must be a US citizen and have an interim security clearance prior to starting.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to conduct data analysis or research and/or understanding of negotiations
  • Procurement or Acquisition Experience
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR)
  • Working knowledge of standard US Department of Defense contract types
  • SAP Systems Experience
  • Ability to establish new suppliers and manage supplier performance

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research regarding suppliers
  • Prepare Request for Quotes
  • Analyze supplier data
  • Conduct basic negotiations for best value, delivery schedule, and Terms and Conditions
  • Create purchase order folders in accordance with the applicable requirements and issue Purchase Orders and track status to delivery
  • Support reviews and Bill of Material accuracy
