The Procurement Program Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple procurement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement project plans focused on productivity and continuous improvement. This role involves partnering with Enterprise Category Teams to assist in the creation of project charters, defining benefits, and determining resource requirements. The Procurement Program Manager will support supply chain resiliency, risk mitigation, and productivity initiatives across the Americas region. Key responsibilities include monitoring active projects, providing status updates, removing obstacles, and escalating issues when necessary. The role requires investigating, coordinating, and communicating project changes, as well as identifying gaps in goals and developing countermeasures to achieve core objectives. The Procurement Program Manager will lead and execute supplier rationalization, quality enhancement, and delivery improvement projects to support procurement goals. Additionally, this role involves aligning strategies between Product Management, Operations, Engineering, and Procurement. The Procurement Program Manager will work closely with Plant Operations and Procurement teams to ensure supply continuity and achieve organizational objectives. The Procurement Program Manager will spearhead strategic projects and programs, collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve enterprise objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include organizing project teams, defining clear roles and responsibilities, and developing comprehensive workflow plans to ensure the successful execution of project commitments. In this role, you will manage objectives and influence teams, securing support from various cross-functional groups. You will lead, oversee, and ensure the successful delivery and management of multiple projects, adhering to scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. Your ability to coordinate and drive projects to completion will be critical in meeting organizational goals and delivering value across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 5+ years of previous work experience in a diversified industrial company in the areas of procurement, engineering, project management, quality, finance and/or operations.
  • Strong understanding of the procurement processes and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Deep understanding of materials management supply and demand planning.
  • Demonstrated ability for independent thinking and multi-tasking.
  • Proven ability to plan pro-actively, anticipate issues and have excellent problem resolution with little or no input or assistance.
  • Excellent follow-through.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including industry-related software and tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills across organization.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, develop and motivate staff, foster team dynamic.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Americas regional procurement goals and metrics including productivity, supplier rationalization, risk management, and supplier performance.
  • Serve as the project manager for multiple procurement initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilizing standard methodologies to drive productivity, continuous improvement, process enhancements, standard work, source changes, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) programs.
  • Ensure alignment of procurement and business unit strategies with operations, Category Management, Marketing, and Engineering platform plans and requirements.
  • Communicate Operations, Engineering, and Marketing-specific strategies to the Procurement team.
  • Assess Trane Technologies' business needs against supplier capabilities to identify and select preferred suppliers that meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
  • Utilize commercial acumen to effectively manage and navigate supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Accurately forecast and report procurement financial metrics, including productivity and inflation.
  • Contribute to the development of the Annual Operating Plan for productivity and supply chain resiliency projects, targets, and initiatives.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional gate reviews, ensuring the allocation of necessary resources to execute projects as planned.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to assist with project charters, benefits, and resource requirements.
  • Represent the Procurement function in plant or product Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) activities.
  • Ensure compliance with the Business Operating System when executing projects.
