About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Multi-Family Manager (Level K) to join our Air Dominance team in Hazelwood and Berkeley, Missouri. This posting is for multiple positions that are open at the St. Louis site. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position is for 1st shift. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.) Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process. Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. Position may require travel up to 25% of the time. Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • More than 3 years of experience in supplier management or supply chain management
  • More than 3 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
  • More than 3 years of experience managing suppliers/vendors to deliver products and services
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • More than 3 years of experience leading proposals, contract terms and conditions development, and negotiation efforts
  • Typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience.
  • Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements
  • Manages employees from multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines performing activities related to the acquisition of goods and services in support of company operations, supplier assessment and performance improvement, management and improvement of supply chain management and processes
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Provides oversight regarding negotiation processes and related tools
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
