The Momofuku Goods Procurement Manager is a key member of the Operations team, responsible for end-to-end purchasing strategy and execution across ingredients, packaging, and contract manufacturers. This role will oversee all tactical procurement activities while building toward a scalable, strategic sourcing function that supports long-term growth. The Procurement Manager will manage supplier performance, optimize material availability and cost. This role will work cross-functionally with Operations (Planning, Commercialization, Logistics), Demand Planning, Finance, R&D, and external suppliers to ensure right product, right place, right time - at the right cost. The successful person in this role will be highly proactive, detail-oriented, financially savvy, and excited to lead both day-to-day operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement and Strategic Sourcing in a CPG environment
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate effectively, and drive accountability
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), Microsoft Excel, and procurement reporting tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-stage company with limited resources

  • Experience working in both startup and scaled CPG environments
  • Experience in building or refining procurement policies and sourcing strategies

Responsibilities

  • Owns all strategic and tactical sourcing of ingredients, packaging, and other direct materials to support finished goods production
  • Manages contract manufacturers (co-mans) and external suppliers end-to-end, including capacity planning, performance reviews, and material availability
  • Develops and executes sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, lead time, and supplier risk while reducing single-source dependence
  • Leads negotiations with suppliers and co-mans across pricing, terms, lead times, and minimum order quantities
  • Builds strong supplier and co-man relationships, conducts regular business reviews, and drives performance KPIs (OTIF, Quality, etc.)
  • Qualifies, onboards, and approves alternate and secondary suppliers and co-mans in partnership with R&D and Quality
  • Identifies, quantifies, and executes cost savings opportunities across the ingredient, packaging, and co-man base
  • Drives total-cost-of-ownership and value-engineering analysis in partnership with R&D, Quality, and Operations
  • Forecasts material and co-man costs and anticipates price movements, providing visibility to pricing changes, risks, and opportunities
  • Partners with Finance on COGS planning, budgeting, and variance analysis, and maintains pricing and cost models that inform commercial and margin decisions
  • Tracks and reports realized savings against annual targets and protects margin through disciplined negotiation
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates supply risk, including single-source exposure, capacity constraints, and commodity volatility
  • Develops contingency and backup-supplier plans and maintains appropriate safety-stock coverage to protect production continuity
  • Monitors commodity markets, lead-time shifts, and supplier and co-man financial health, escalating risks proactively
  • Releases purchase orders and ensures supplier and co-man confirmations and fulfillment on a proactive timeline
  • Monitors inbound materials vs. production requirements and adjusts orders and commitments to prevent shortages or excess
  • Maintains optimal safety stock by category and works with co-mans and 3PLs to ensure material availability and reduce obsolete inventory
  • Partners with Supply and Demand Planning to align material buys to forecast, seasonality, and promotional cadence
  • Builds and maintains clean, timely records of all procurement transactions in NetSuite and leads reporting on procurement KPIs, supplier OTIF, material availability, and cost tracking
  • Champions continuous improvement of procurement systems, tools, and reporting dashboards
