About The Position

Manager will be responsible for directing supplier quality development and improvement activity as required for all production parts. Monitor analysis and investigations involving product quality and address issues for action determination. Coordinate audits, lead training and kaizen activity. To assist and support the Procurement Management Team in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure an efficient and professional operation that is consistent with corporate requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field along with more than eight (8) years of progressive experience in the quality control, assurance or development field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a related area in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • OEM or parts components supplier experience strongly preferred.
  • Long-term planning and strategy development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • In depth knowledge of Quality Systems such as PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PSO, SIX SIGMA, TPS, APQP, ISIR, SPC, 8D, QS9000, and ISO is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP system preferred.
  • CQE, CRE, CQA or CQM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and leadership, ensure training, and share best practices with staff in related sections.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a system for supplier development activities that align with organizational strategic goals and objectives.
  • Ensure supplier performance and readiness by coordinating process audits, conducting training, performing kaizen activity, and performing technical analysis and reviews.
  • Drive supplier improvement activities for IQS and warranty related items.
  • Record and maintain supplier readiness database to review with Senior Management throughout the development process.
  • Support commercial parts development team for all cost reduction, VE/VA, and benchmarking activities.
  • Assist QA and QC for part failure analysis and problem resolution as it pertains to supplier quality including production and warranty.
  • Implement, where applicable, lean manufacturing concepts to ensure highly efficient supplier plant locations.
  • Review and report on any current and future countermeasure.
  • Participate in purchasing related internal meetings, including making presentations to all levels of management, budget planning and other high level items.
  • Ensure TS / ISO Readiness for Section.
