About The Position

The Procurement, Health & Safety & Projects Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operational excellence of Globeducate Canada schools by overseeing procurement activities, coordinating capital improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation across multiple campuses. This role serves as a key operational partner to school leaders, contractors, and external vendors, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, vendor relationships are effectively managed, and all campuses maintain safe, compliant learning and working environments. The successful candidate is highly organized, proactive, solutions-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site educational setting.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement, facilities coordination, project management, health and safety, or operations.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
  • Knowledge of Joint Health and Safety Committee requirements.
  • Understanding of procurement and contract management best practices.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence and willingness to travel between campuses.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a multi-site organization is preferred.
  • Experience in the education sector or other highly regulated environments is considered an asset.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Health and Safety certification (e.g., NCSO, CRSP coursework, or equivalent) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement process for goods and services across all campuses, ensuring quality, value, and cost effectiveness.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with preferred vendors and contractors.
  • Review and monitor vendor performance to ensure service standards and contractual obligations are met.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and vendor consolidation.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with organizational policies and budget requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, warranties, and vendor documentation.
  • Coordinate contract renewals and monitor expiry dates.
  • Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and execution of capital improvement (CAPEX) projects across multiple campuses.
  • Meet regularly with Principals and department leaders to identify facility improvement needs and prioritize projects.
  • Develop annual CAPEX schedules aligned with operational priorities and budget timelines.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout project lifecycles.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, escalating risks where necessary.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and quality.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and with minimal disruption to school operations.
  • Support building renovations, classroom improvements, maintenance initiatives, and expansion projects, including Clover School building projects.
  • Lead the organization's Health and Safety program across all campuses.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ministry requirements, and other applicable legislation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinate workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and ensure legislative compliance.
  • Maintain all required health and safety documentation and records.
  • Coordinate mandatory health and safety training for employees.
  • Monitor legislative changes and recommend policy updates as required.
  • Support emergency preparedness planning, fire safety, evacuation procedures, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Promote a proactive culture of workplace safety across all campuses.
  • Partner closely with Principals to understand campus operational needs and priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance to support procurement planning and capital budgeting.
  • Liaise with People & Culture regarding health and safety training, workplace investigations, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support Operations leadership with strategic operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project status, procurement activities, and health and safety compliance.
