About The Position

Responsible for the vendor contracting process including contract negotiating, drafting, review and risk analysis of contract terms and conditions. Ensures vendor contracts are in compliance with applicable state and federal law, rules and regulations as well as U.S. Bank policies. Supports Business Line and Corporate Procurement assigned initiatives by drafting and negotiating the contract terms and conditions as well as advising business lines on risk decisions related to the contract. Job scope and complexity of assignments are broad and very complex. Requires the ability to improvise and respond to contractual language questions, provide creative solutions to resolve conflict with vendors, effectively balance working on multiple projects at one time while successfully meeting tight deadlines. The Procurement Business Line is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Contract Services professional responsible for leading contract negotiation, third-party risk alignment, and end-to-end contract lifecycle management. This role operates across the organization to negotiate contracts, mitigate risk, and deliver business outcomes, while overseeing Contract Services workflows and ensuring efficient, high-quality delivery across engagements. The individual partners closely with Business Lines and Third-Party Vendors and facilitates contract reviews through key stakeholders including Procurement, Risk, Legal, and Finance. This position serves as a trusted advisor to business and procurement leadership, providing guidance on contractual, sourcing, and risk matters while ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory expectations, and procurement best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Five or more years of experience in procurement contract administration activities

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage contract negotiations, including ownership of redline review and resolution
  • Analyze contractual terms to identify, escalate, and remediate risk issues
  • Oversee the full contract lifecycle, including: drafting, negotiation, approvals execution, reposit, and ongoing management
  • Ensure contracts are accurately maintained and governed within the enterprise contract management systems
  • Partner with Procurement Sourcing teams to support sourcing strategies and commercial terms within contracts
  • Collaborate with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure appropriate controls and contractual protections
  • Ensure alignment with procurement policies, procedures, and leading practices
  • Support audits, quality assurance, and ongoing process and policy improvements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned business units and vendor engagements
  • Provide procurement and contract advisory support to internal stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across business lines, sourcing teams, and third-party vendors
  • Identify opportunities to drive enterprise contract leverage and improve internal customer engagement
  • Manage and coordinate contract workflows across multiple engagements and stakeholders
  • Drive process optimization, quality assurance, and operational efficiency
  • Support and coordinate updates to contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools and systems
