About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Category Specialist for our Northwest Houston area client. This role involves leading strategic sourcing for assigned MRO categories, researching suppliers and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities, and managing the entire RFQ/RFP process. The specialist will negotiate pricing and contract terms, foster strong vendor relationships, analyze purchasing data, and collaborate with internal departments to meet procurement needs. Additionally, the role requires monitoring sourcing performance metrics and managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong background in strategic sourcing, MRO procurement, RFP/RFQ processes, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud/EBS, JD Edwards, or Glovia preferred.
• Must be analytical, self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with internal teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.
