About The Position
NOV's Corporate Procurement Team in Houston is seeking a Procurement Category Specialist to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in MRO sourcing, RFP/RFQ execution, and contract negotiation. This role works closely with internal stakeholders, manufacturers, and distributors to drive value and cost savings.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in oil and gas
- Experience with strategic sourcing for MRO categories
- Strong contract negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Proficiency with Oracle (Cloud or EBS), JD Edwards, or Glovia preferred
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment

- Bachelor's degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for assigned procurement categories
- Prepare and execute RFQs and RFPs; negotiate pricing, discount structures, and commercial terms
- Conduct supplier analysis and market research to identify cost-savings opportunities
- Analyze spending patterns and develop data-driven sourcing plans
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and align on business needs
