About The Position

The Procurement Buyer will be responsible for creating and maintaining all purchase orders, ensuring purchase order cycle efficiency, and auditing invoices for accuracy and compliance. This role involves material part number creation and management, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records. The buyer will monitor supplier performance, identify cost savings opportunities, and act as a strategic partner assessing risk across multiple suppliers. They will track key metrics, improve procurement processes, prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms. Additionally, the role requires analyzing industry and demand trends, supporting leadership with sourcing strategies, and working cross-functionally to support other departments. The Procurement Buyer will also support Corporate Procurement and the Local Plant team, ensuring compliance with Mondi policies and guidelines, and performing other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Purchasing, Planning, Supply Chain or Manufacturing
Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis on Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business or another applicable field
SAP experience a plus
Strong understanding of business processes
Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Project management experience a plus
Effective skills to build relationships and productively interface with all levels of the business
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

Create and maintain all purchase orders including: paper, film, ink & glue, corrugated, maintenance, & other miscellaneous expenses
Ensure purchase order cycle efficiency, effective purchase order management
Audits invoices and checks for accuracy, receipt of material, and compliance with purchase orders
Material part number creation and management
Prepares reports and maintains accurate inventory and procurement records
Monitor supplier performance through the life of the contract; Find opportunities to drive value through improvements in supplier performance
Identifies cost savings opportunities and makes recommendations to leadership team
Strategic partner assessing risk, working with multiple suppliers across the plant, region and organization
Track key metrics such as cost savings, on-time delivery, and inventory turns
Improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
Prepares proposals, requests quotes, and negotiates purchase terms and conditions
Analyse industry and demand trends and supports leadership with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
Ability to work cross functionally to support other departments within the business
Support Corporate Procurement and Local Plant team
Ensure procurement compliance with all Mondi policies and guidelines
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership
