About The Position

The Procurement Buyer will be responsible for placing purchase orders for various food or packaging Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) with allocated vendors, ensuring correct price, quantity, and buffer. This role involves partnering with distribution centers, offsite production and warehouse locations, and suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries and that inventory levels meet demand requirements. The position also drives continuous improvement by recommending changes, testing new processes, and implementing updates. Key responsibilities include analyzing purchasing data for accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and resolving supplier issues related to operations, purchasing, or quality. The role also entails conducting weekly operations processes such as updating POs, tracking freight, managing production issues, paying invoices, scrubbing data, and managing inventory levels. Additionally, the Procurement Buyer will support teammates to prevent procurement-related issues and collaborate with internal teams to enhance offsite production capabilities.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required
• 1-3 years of procurement and/or sourcing experience
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel
• Must be flexible to work weekends (3x a quarter)

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders to allocated vendors for a variety of food or packaging Stock Keeping Units (SKUs), at the correct price, quantity, buffer, etc.
• Partner with HelloFresh distribution centers, offsite production and warehouse locations, and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and inventories match demand requirements
• Drive continuous improvement efforts by recommending changes, testing new processes, and implementing updates
• Analyze purchasing data to ensure accuracy of information, purchasing procedures and identify any discrepancies, etc
• Resolve any unforeseen problems with suppliers relating to operations, purchasing or quality/performance quickly and professionally
• Conduct all weekly operations processes including updating POs, tracking freight, managing production issues, paying invoices, scrubbing data and managing inventory levels.
• Support your teammates to ensure that no boxes are missed and no ingredients are subbed due to procurement issues.
• Work with a team of internal high-achievers to continue building, growing, and improving on our offsite production capabilities
