About The Position

DevCo Procurement is hiring a Full-Time Procurement Buyer to join our collaborative team located in Bellevue, WA! This position will work at our Bellevue office via a hybrid in-office schedule. This position reports directly to our Director of Operations (Construction). The Procurement Buyer supports project delivery by sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality materials, equipment, and services. Works closely with project managers, estimators, and suppliers to ensure that all procurement activities align with project timelines, budgets, and specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Your efforts will directly contribute to the smooth execution and financial success of our construction projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in procurement or a similar role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Yardi).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screen required.
  • Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S., meeting I-9 guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Ground-up, multifamily construction project purchasing experience is preferred.
  • Garden style, podium, wrap, and/or open courtyard and urban mid-rise project purchasing experience, preferred.
  • Background in multifamily construction is desirable but not required.
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project and Bluebeam is desirable but not required.
  • Basic understanding of tax credits, affordable housing, and HUD requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the purchasing of items for the construction of affordable multifamily housing units.
  • Ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective acquisition and delivery of goods.
  • Maintain general knowledge of company material standards and performance requirements.
  • Collect product documents from vendors and provide as submittals for identified goods and materials on each project.
  • Simultaneously track material orders from multiple vendors across multiple projects.
  • Proactively collaborate with vendors to develop contingency plans for delayed or incomplete deliveries.
  • Maintain national accounts with vendors and suppliers and establish new accounts as directed by your manager.
  • Maintain effective departmental purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Identify areas for improvement to drive consistency, meet deadlines, and maximize value.
  • Performing departmental accounting functions, including, but not limited to, verifying accuracy and coding of vendor invoices and monthly reconciliation of accounts.
  • Ensure positive cash flow between incoming customer payments and outgoing vendor payments.
  • Coordinate and track all shipments and deliveries.
  • Generate and deliver project-specific weekly reports to the project team on each active project.
  • Report on departmental bookkeeping and expenditure reconciliation with the accounting department and develop various reports as needed.
  • Attend and participate in daily/weekly meetings to ensure the team is properly updated and working together to successfully deliver quality work on schedule and on budget.
  • Participate in weekly or monthly OAC meetings as needed.
  • Track and organize project documentation, tasks, issues, and other items as needed.
  • Collect and compile manufacturer warranties and other closeout documentation, ensuring timely delivery to customers upon project completion.
  • All other duties as assigned by your manager.
