About The Position

York Space Systems is seeking a Procurement and Supply Chain Team Lead to supervise a team responsible for the procurement and management of aerospace industry components and manufactured parts. The Purchasing Supervisor will focus on supervising the day-to-day and tactical assignments of the purchasing team, including but not limited to; PO assignments, PO approvals, resolving shortages, resolving ERP issues, reporting status, and various other duties. The Purchasing Supervisor will report to the Purchasing Manager and serve as a point of immediate escalations for the team. This role will support various departments of the Company through purchasing, supplier management, and inventory control efforts. This position collaborates with the departments of program management, production, warehouse, IT, and finance to conduct business and operational support through effective purchasing. This position is an in-office and salaried position.

  • 3+ years of leadership experience to include direct reports supervision

  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a rate production manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assigning POs and facilitating PO approvals at the direction of the Purchasing Manager and support staff supervision and problem resolution.
  • Be the first level of support for the purchasing team and help to resolve purchasing issues.
  • Be a focal point for reporting on shortages and PO status.
  • Execute procurement strategies and make purchase decisions autonomously, aligning with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to finance, operations, and engineering, to understand requirements and optimize procurement processes.
  • Engage and build relationships with multiple stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met while maintaining a strategic approach to purchasing.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, leveraging this knowledge to enhance the procurement process and identify cost-effective, innovative solutions.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for streamlining procurement processes, implementing best practices, and enhancing efficiency.
  • Handle multiple procurement projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
