About The Position

STS Metals is a unified organization composed of five businesses working together to deliver high-quality titanium, stainless and alloy steel and nickel products. The Procurement Administrator supports the procurement and materials management function by ensuring accurate purchase order processing, supplier communication, and recordkeeping. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within the procurement and supply chain field. The position provides hands-on experience, exposure to supplier relations, and opportunities for advancement. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (occasional flexibility may be required to meet business needs).

Requirements

  • College coursework in procurement, supply chain management, business, or related field (community college level or higher).
  • 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, or administrative support (internships, part-time roles, or coursework projects accepted).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders (POs).
  • Verify order details and ensure accuracy with supplier acknowledgments.
  • Maintain orderly and complete documentation of procurement activities.
  • Enter and update material transactions in the MRP system.
  • Maintain supplier files, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Assist with generating and updating reports for the procurement team.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status and delivery schedules.
  • Escalate delivery or quality issues to the Senior Buyer or Procurement Director.
  • Assist with tracking and documenting supplier performance.
  • Support the collection of quotes and request-for-quote (RFQ) information.
  • Maintain and manage supplier status reports and meeting documentation.
  • Monitor and report inventory levels.
  • Assist with reconciling discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Create and maintain supplier line-of-balance reports.
  • Review incoming deliveries to ensure they match purchase order details.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist the procurement team with scheduling and documenting supplier meetings.
  • Support filing, scanning, and organization of procurement-related records.
