About The Position

The Processor is responsible for sorting, pricing, ticketing, and coordinating the processing of clothing and wares to maintain adequate production quotas and ensure the flow of goods based on donation volume. This role involves maintaining quality, material control, general housekeeping, and safety within acceptable standards. The Processor will perform production activities as designated by Plant Supervisors and demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the Goodwill Mission.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work with people with all abilities.
  • Must have good work habits, such as acceptable attitude and punctuality.
  • Must respond appropriately to supervision.
  • Must possess adequate physical endurance to work at industrial standards.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted, and up to 50 lbs assisted.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to push or pull.
  • Must be able to occasionally sit, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to regularly stoop, bend, reach, turn, and twist body.

Nice To Haves

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, price, and ticket product.
  • Separate, package, and inventory wares.
  • Supply processed shoes to meet production quotas and deadlines.
  • Perform production activities as designated by Plant Supervisors.
  • Maintain quality and material control.
  • Perform general housekeeping and safety duties.
  • Recognize use, style, value, saleable, salvage, trash, and seasonal items.
  • Maintain quota based on volume of donations.
  • Box salvage merchandise (shoes, books, belts, etc.).
  • Mark everything that will leave the building clearly.
  • Direct obvious trash from box or pile.
  • Maintain work station cleanliness, neatness, orderliness, and safe conditions.
  • Perform proper fire safety procedures.
  • Box items to be shipped.
  • Process and box seasonal items for storage.
  • Clean when necessary.
  • Cross-train in other areas as needed.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and special instructions.
  • Investigate and report unsatisfactory conditions in the Plant to Plant Supervisors and/or Executive Vice President of Retail, following the chain of command.
