About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Akron, OH is looking to hire an entry-level Processor / Retail Stock Associate. This role involves sorting donated goods and textiles, inspecting items for salability, and preparing them for resale. The associate will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment and supporting the company's mission of helping individuals find and retain employment. Goodwill Industries of Akron serves Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland, and Richland counties and was established in 1927.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in customer service with retail or food service experience is highly desirable.
Work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting is helpful.

Responsibilities

Sort donated goods and textiles with an eye for detail to ensure that Goodwill quality control standards are met.
Inspect textiles, furniture, appliances, small household wares, novelty items, books, toys, decorations, and sporting goods to determine salability.
Test electronic merchandise to determine safe operations.
Sort, hang, tag, price, and prepare goods for resale.
Prepare accurate reports as required throughout the day.
Help promote the development of service participants.
Commit to safety and help keep your work area clean and void of hazards.
Operate equipment with attention to safe operating procedures.
