Processing Worker/Production Worker
About The Position
The Processing Worker is responsible for handling materials and following procedures to de-package and prepare products according to Company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process. Nutrition 101 LLC - headquartered in Pendleton, IN - is a niche provider of complex, eco-friendly liquid waste handling & feed solutions that offers innovative end-to-end solutions for the food processing lifecycle. 101 is the industry leader in the recovery and diversion of food waste byproducts. Our products recover millions of tons of food waste and convert them to livestock feeds, creating value for food processors and livestock producers alike.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Able to follow instructions and pay attention to details.
- Must wear company-approved steel-toe shoes.
- Able to work in hot, noisy, or dusty environments.
- Able to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical work.
- Willing to work different shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
- Follow safety rules and safe work practices.

- Ability to safely operate industrial equipment, including forklifts, yard spotters, and other material handling equipment after successful completion of required training and certification.
Responsibilities
- Follow company values and rules.
- Follow all safety, food safety, and workplace procedures.
- Arrive to work on time.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and work guidelines.
- Wear required PPE, including safety shoes.
- Clean containers, equipment, and work areas.
- Unload and handle food waste products (up to 40 lbs).
- Move products to the correct storage area and dispose of packaging waste properly.
- Prepare trailers for customer return.
- Report spills, safety concerns, or other issues to a supervisor.
- Clean and sanitize totes according to procedures.
- Attend required meetings and training.
- No jewelry or visible piercings allowed while working.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, kneel, climb stairs, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to safely operate industrial equipment, including forklifts, yard spotters, and other material handling equipment after successful completion of required training and certification.
- Ability to work around moving machinery and equipment while maintaining awareness of surroundings and following all safety protocols.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for grasping, handling, and operating tools, controls, and computer equipment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand work instructions, safety procedures, production documentation, and team communications.
- Ability to visually inspect products, equipment, and work areas to identify quality, safety, and operational issues.
- Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions, alarms, warning signals, and other workplace communications.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and shift coverage as needed to support business operations.
