About The Position

As a Processing Technician Placenta, you will play a vital role in advancing our mission by performing all aspects of processing, preservation, and storage of tissues in an FDA regulated environment. This position requires working in a team environment under aseptic conditions while performing controlled production processes and conducting quality assessments of tissue products and documentation. The role's complexity varies based on physical demands, knowledge of human anatomy, number of graft lines/product families processed, complexity of processes required for proficiency, number and types of equipment operated, and the degree of manual dexterity and fine motor skills required. This role is critical to the LifeNet Health mission, as it is an important step in transforming donor gifts into lifesaving and health-restoring allografts for patients around the globe.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
  • Zero years of work experience is required
  • Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Able to convey information verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Computer Software, Databases
  • Able to learn new skills, grafts, and adapt to developing product lines
  • Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) Certification preferred
  • One (1) year Tissue Processing Experience preferred
  • Technical skills (preferred)
  • General knowledge of anatomy
  • Able to use surgical instrumentation and equipment

Responsibilities

  • Reviews work orders or processing instructions/scheduling prior to initiating production.
  • Works with production supervisors to adjust plans as needed.
  • Performs all aspects of processing tissue (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing) according to current procedures and protocols.
  • Assists supervisory team in production enhancement and improvement initiatives.
  • Perform all aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.) according to current procedures and protocols.
  • Document all processes and functions performed in accordance with all procedures and protocols.
  • Perform post-processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols.
