The Processing Technician Dermis plays a vital role in advancing the mission by performing all aspects of processing, preservation, and storage of tissues in an FDA-regulated environment. This role involves working in a team environment under aseptic conditions while performing controlled production processes and quality assessments of tissue products and documentation. The complexity of this role varies based on physical demands, knowledge of human anatomy, number of graft lines/product families processed, complexity of processes, equipment operated, and manual dexterity required. These roles are critical to the LifeNet Health mission as they are an important step in transitioning donor gifts to lifesaving and health-restoring allografts for patients globally.

Requirements

High School or GED required
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
Zero years of work experience is required
Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness
Able to convey information verbally and in writing
Able to learn new skills, grafts, and adapt to developing product lines
Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload
Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
You will be required to sit, stand, bend, walk and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift; as well as wear personal protective equipment to include: surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles and caps.

Nice To Haves

Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) Certification preferred
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
One (1) year Tissue Processing Experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Computer Software, Databases
Technical skills (preferred)
General knowledge of anatomy, able to use surgical instrumentation and equipment

Responsibilities

Reviews work orders or processing instructions/scheduling prior to initiating production.
Works with production supervisors to adjust plans as needed.
Performs all aspects of processing tissue (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing) according to current procedures and protocols.
Assists supervisory team in production enhancement and improvement initiatives.
Performs all aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.) according to current procedures and protocols.
Documents all processes and functions performed in accordance with all procedures and protocols.
Performs post-processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols.
