About The Position

The Processing Tech performs sterile processing duties for instruments, equipment, and supplies. The role includes decontaminating and cleaning items, assembling and packaging instruments and trays, sterilizing materials using the specified methods as trained, and preparing requested items for surgery. Basic computer functions are also performed as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification is required within 12 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous related experience and certification are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments, equipment, and other items as needed.
• Sort and clean instruments and equipment by hand and/or using a washer/disinfectant.
• Assemble, wrap, and package instruments, instrument trays, and supplies.
• Sterilize instruments and supplies using STERRAD, steam, and ethylene oxide gas sterilizers as trained.
• Pick instruments, instrument trays, and supplies for surgery in a timely manner.
• Perform basic computer functions using a Windows-based system as needed.
