Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing
  • Experience with sauce production and/or dairy preferred
  • Experience operating thermal processing equipment and pasteurizers
  • Better Process Control School (BPCS)
  • Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety documentation
  • Comfortable working with perishable ingredients and managing cold storage
  • Able to safely work around food products, which may include common allergens such as dairy

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the right ingredients are in the right tank at the right time so that delicious, high quality Torani sauce can be bottled.
  • Proactively engage in critical process communications.
  • Operate multiple equipment areas.
  • Check the viscosity and color of a batch.
  • Monitor time-sensitive ingredients.
  • Ensure that kettles, agitators and pumps are running optimally and the batches are flowing through.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, from temperature probes to flow meters, to resolve straightforward equipment issues affecting processing and pasteurization.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic work environment with zero safety incidents by consistently applying GMPs, allergen management, and sanitation standards.
  • Reinforce safe practices at every step.
  • Safely and effectively operate machinery and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with critical partners at the Filler and proactively communicate timely information to support the manufacturing team.
  • Cook sauces to defined quality and sensory standards.
  • Effectively evaluate batches and make real-time decisions to minimize scrap in bottling operations.
  • Manage critical control points and focus on key quality characteristics through checking viscosity, color, and allergens.
  • Oversee the progression of the sauce from batch processing through quality checks to sensory.
  • Work independently with batching systems, pasteurizers, and time-sensitive ingredients like butter and cream.
  • Coordinate effectively with filler operators.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities.
