About The Position

Aid in the By-Products plant in all areas and all positions as a team member to make sure that end products are processed according to quality specifications and customer needs.

Experience in food manufacturing or an industrial plant is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting in all areas of the plant including all production areas while meeting production deadlines, ensuring quality standards are met, and following all safety standards.
Work as a team.
Responsible for Product Movement.
Effectively provide feedback and take instructions as needed.
Assure quality and food safety and personal safety are observed.
Knowledge of machinery upkeep and operation.
Tracking and rotation of product.
Perform sanitation tasks as needed.
Participate in some discussions about confidential/sensitive matters.
Communicate with employees and others through written, oral, and face-to-face interactions.
Assist and supervise other team members in the completion of work.
Follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) compliance guidelines.
Communicate with fellow employees to complete tasks and adhere to safety standards including but not limited to leads and other shift personnel not assigned to your shift.
Assure the following shift is briefed on ongoing activities and pass along instructions from management if needed.
Ability to work flexible work schedules with varying hours as required.
Knowledge and adherence of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Assure product is inspected coming out of various machines to ensure proper removal of waste.
Assure equipment is operated as directed by management and per safety protocols and operating instructions.
Interface with maintenance crew to ensure equipment operations are consistent with product quality standards. Alert maintenance or management when equipment or product quality falls below standards or there are safety concerns.
Maintain appropriate housekeeping and sanitation procedures within the plant.
Provide prompt, friendly and courteous service to internal and external customers.
Continually pursue sustainability of our natural resources with every decision, decreasing waste and being conscious of individual choices.
Advocate positive change within our plant and company, empowering one another.
Other duties as required.
Always work to produce products people can trust by recognizing poor quality coming off the processing machines or at your station and communicating with management.
Push and pull carts, totes, and bins as needed.
Assist with training of other team members.
Follow and sustain all LOTO (Lock out/Tagout) procedures and policies at all times.
Secure loads according to established protocols.
Dump totes safely using established protocols and/or equipment.
Fill kettles safely with product according to established protocols.
Scrape kettles safely according to established protocols.
Drop (drain) kettles in 2 hours or less according to established protocols.
Participate in grinding operations by monitoring ratios of mixtures of bone/viscera and any other grinding task as assigned.
Change and grease blades in a safe manner according to established protocols.
