This position is for a Processing Operator I within the Abbott Nutrition division, located at the Altavista, VA manufacturing plant. The Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for all ages, including leading brands like Similac®, PediaSure®, Pedialyte®, Ensure®, and Glucerna®. The Altavista plant is one of Abbott’s largest nutrition manufacturing facilities, equipped with advanced technology, where employees work together to produce products that nourish millions of families worldwide.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly

Responsibilities

• Safe manufacturing of our industry-leading adult, pediatric and medical nutritional products
• Weighing, handling and dispensing of ingredients
• Receiving and unloading bulk ingredients and chemicals
• Operating computer-controlled processing equipment
• Completing workorder documentation
• Performing quality checks
• Cleaning equipment and production environment
• Troubleshooting equipment issues
• Meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures
