About The Position

PIM Brands is seeking a motivated Processing Floater to join their rapidly growing team. This full-time role is critical for ensuring the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted flow of materials, ingredients, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility. The Processing Floater directly supports high-volume, automated manufacturing operations and is a key contributor to achieving production, safety, and quality objectives. This position operates within a modern, high-speed manufacturing environment, supporting state-of-the-art confectionery production lines. Success requires operational awareness, equipment proficiency, material management expertise, and adherence to standardized processes to ensure production lines remain supplied and operating efficiently. The role involves close collaboration with various teams, including Cooks, Mogul Operators, Technicians, Quality personnel, Warehouse teams, and Leadership, to ensure materials are available, inventory is accurate, and processes operate without interruption. A strong attention to detail, organizational skills, safety awareness, and a commitment to operational excellence are essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, material handling, or food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations strongly preferred.
  • Previous forklift and powered industrial vehicle operation experience required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial equipment certification.
  • Strong understanding of material handling safety principles and inventory control practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with inventory tracking systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, inventory documentation, labels, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and standard work compliance.
  • English fluency required, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand production schedules, safety documentation, inventory records, work instructions, operating procedures, labels, and leadership communications.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport raw materials, ingredients, starch trays, molds, work-in-process inventory, packaging materials, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Support high-speed, high-volume production operations by maintaining continuous and efficient material flow to all assigned production areas.
  • Ensure production lines remain adequately supplied to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations and schedule attainment.
  • Stage materials, ingredients, molds, and supplies according to production schedules and standard operating procedures.
  • Remove finished product, production waste, empty pallets, and obsolete materials from production areas promptly.
  • Coordinate material movements to support line startups, product transitions, changeovers, sanitation activities, and production shutdowns.
  • Monitor production areas for potential material shortages and proactively replenish materials before operational disruptions occur.
  • Support Cooking, Mogul, Processing, Finishing, and Packaging operations as required.
  • Maintain orderly material staging areas and storage locations utilizing established inventory management standards.
  • Perform product and material movements with a sense of urgency while maintaining safety and accuracy.
  • Safely operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, walkie riders, reach trucks, and other authorized powered industrial vehicles.
  • Perform documented pre-operational inspections and safety checks at the beginning of each shift.
  • Verify powered industrial equipment is operating safely and report mechanical deficiencies immediately.
  • Follow all OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and site-specific powered equipment standards.
  • Operate equipment safely in active manufacturing environments with pedestrian traffic, production personnel, and moving machinery.
  • Maintain awareness of potential hazards and environmental conditions while transporting materials.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured, balanced, identified, and transported without damage.
  • Maintain required certifications, training qualifications, and authorizations for operation of powered industrial equipment.
  • Support a culture of safety through safe equipment operation and proactive hazard identification.
  • Maintain material traceability throughout all inventory movements and production support activities.
  • Verify lot codes, batch numbers, product identification, quantities, and material specifications prior to movement.
  • Ensure materials are correctly labeled and stored in designated locations.
  • Support inventory management activities through accurate documentation and execution of material handling procedures.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, reconciliation efforts, and inventory investigations.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and report discrepancies immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with inventory control requirements supporting food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.
  • Support ERP and inventory transaction processes as required by operational procedures.
  • Verify production materials align with manufacturing schedules and product requirements.
  • Execute all responsibilities in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Work Instructions, GMP requirements, and departmental policies.
  • Adhere to established workflows and material handling processes to support consistency and reliability.
  • Demonstrate operational discipline and personal accountability in all assigned responsibilities.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Support standard work audits and operational assessments.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of material flow processes and departmental performance expectations.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations through consistent execution and attention to detail.
  • Support implementation of process improvements and operational best practices.
  • Maintain full compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, allergen control, sanitation, and food safety requirements at all times.
  • Properly wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment.
  • Immediately report accidents, injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, and equipment concerns.
  • Participate in safety observations, audits, investigations, training programs, and corrective action activities.
  • Ensure all materials are handled and transported in a manner that prevents contamination and product loss.
  • Maintain audit readiness and compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Reinforce a culture where safety and food safety are non-negotiable operational priorities.
  • Support achievement of daily production goals, schedule attainment targets, throughput objectives, and departmental performance metrics.
  • Maintain efficient material movement practices to eliminate operational delays and production interruptions.
  • Anticipate production needs and proactively respond to changing operational requirements.
  • Support reduction of downtime associated with material shortages and supply challenges.
  • Minimize waste, product damage, inventory discrepancies, and material handling inefficiencies.
  • Demonstrate urgency, reliability, and accountability while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Contribute to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by ensuring timely and accurate support of production activities.
  • Support labor efficiency and operational effectiveness through strong execution and teamwork.
  • Partner effectively with Cooks, Mogul Operators, Technicians, Warehouse personnel, Quality teams, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Leadership.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, inventory accuracy, workplace organization, safety performance, and production efficiency.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support training activities and sharing of best practices among team members.
  • Maintain professional working relationships across all departments.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, communication, and continuous learning.
  • Assume additional responsibilities, projects, assignments, cross-training activities, and operational support tasks as required to meet business needs and organizational objectives.
