About The Position

Rare earth elements (REEs) power technologies such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, and advanced electronics. Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is at the forefront of building the REE industry right here in Saskatchewan and we’re looking for multiple Processing Assistant to be part of building our cutting-edge REE Commercial Division. Requirements

No experience required, on the job training will be provided
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office is required for emails and data entry into spreadsheets
Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs throughout work shifts
Must provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.

Mechanical or electrical aptitude is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Follow safety protocols and utilize the provided safety tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work alongside operators on various tasks, ensuring to escalate equipment or process issues to operators or supervisors as they arise
Accurately measure, add, mix, and lift heavy materials up to 50 lbs
Assist with installation, troubleshooting, operation, repair, and maintenance of equipment
Monitor computer feedback and make basic process adjustments following clear instructions and established procedures. Work areas could include REE processing activities such as Rare Earth Elements metals’ smelting, solvent extraction, and reagent handling
Perform sample collection and bench tests and maintain a clean work area
Keep a detailed history of shifts utilizing remarks and database entries
