This position is responsible for managing the central appointments line, which schedules appointments for Immunizations, STD, Family Planning, Maternal Health, Communicable Disease, Tuberculosis Tests, Laboratory services, and Miscellaneous pregnancy tests. Accuracy in appointment scheduling is essential, as incorrect or delayed scheduling can disrupt clinic operations and reduce efficiency. A significant portion of this role involves extensive knowledge and independent interpretation of the policies and procedures for the various Clinical Services clinics. This position is cross trained to function in all clerical support areas including the Mobile Health Unit and Patient Accounts. Tasks performed by the position include but are not limited to: registering and checking in patients, updating and reviewing financial screens for billing, verifying insurance coverage, operating the switchboard, and other related clerical tasks. This position works closely with Eligibility staff to support payment collection and eligibility completion when necessary. Top candidates for this position are organized; articulate; knowledgeable of and able to use correct grammar, vocabulary, and spelling; professional, and able to multi-task in various situations. This position must be able to problem solve and work independently following training. Regular work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, flex schedule is a possibility if approved. This position may have to cover clerical operations at the Mooresville Health Department. Availability during emergencies and training exercises is required.
