About The Position

Caltrol, an Emerson Impact Partner with 90+ years in industrial automation across AZ, CA, HI, and NV, is seeking a Process Valve & Actuator Service Traineeto join their team in Chandler, AZ. This role is ideal for someone curious about precision flow control, eager to learn hands-on from experienced technicians, and comfortable with a mix of shop work and field service at customer sites. The trainee will build and test valves/actuators, assist with disassembly, decontamination, repair, assembly, and testing, and support in-line valve activities at customer facilities. The position also involves transporting equipment, maintaining shop tools, and progressing towards independent servicing of control/isolation valves.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with strong driving record.
  • Able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Independent, team-oriented, and organized communicator (email and digital work orders).
  • Competent with impact wrenches, hand/power tools, test equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
  • Strong work ethic and safety mindset.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing and an excellent driving record.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
  • Required to pass a pre-screen drug test that includes testing for marijuana.
  • Will also be subjected to random hair follicle drug testing.
  • Ability to pass and keep up with OSCA Random drug screening and background checks for customers.

  • Can read schematics and interpret IOMs.
  • Manual machining knowledge/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and test valves/actuators following IOMs, work orders, and customer specifications.
  • Clean parts using solvents, brushes, and sandblasting equipment.
  • Assist with disassembly, decontamination, repair, assembly, and testing in both shop and field settings.
  • Support in-line valve activities at customer facilities (fittings, packing changes, flange bolting, torque checks).
  • Validate that finished assemblies meet quality and customer requirements.
  • Transport equipment using a stake bed for pickups and deliveries.
  • Help maintain shop tools and equipment for readiness and safety.
  • Progress toward independently and safely servicing control/isolation valves.
