Responsible for monitoring and operating processing equipment and assures production quality standards are met. This role involves constantly monitoring and controlling plant operations to carry out the established operations plan, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement. The technician will physically monitor process temperatures, pressures, material flows and levels to evaluate process operations, and complete sanitation work of areas as assigned. They will also receive and inspect incoming raw materials, process aids, and packaging materials relevant to the department, and take samples of products to analyze quality and record resulting test data. Maintaining logs of instrument readings observed during hourly rounds and making necessary physical adjustments to meet desired operating parameters are key functions. The role requires notifying Supervisors or Management of operational or food safety concerns, assisting other employees and departments as required for efficient plant operation, and communicating regularly with all necessary personnel. The technician must conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and safety requirements, and provide a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times is also essential. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
