About The Position

Coldstream Clear is seeking a skilled and hands-on Process Technician to support their production facility. This role involves technical troubleshooting, process optimization, and preventative maintenance, with a focus on automation systems, PLCs, robotics, and production equipment. The Process Technician will be the primary responder for troubleshooting process operations and will play a key role in improving process reliability through adjustments and preventative maintenance. The successful candidate will have a passion for building and improving systems and processes, contributing to both physical improvements and reliable production output. Responsibilities also include assisting with new equipment installations, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using LEAN methodologies, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and Maintenance, blending hands-on technical work with structured process improvement to ensure equipment safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Industrial electrician, machinist, millwright, engineering technologist, or similar technical education or training.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting, robotics, precise mechanical machines, and automated Food & Beverage production systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to work across multiple systems.
  • Knowledge of LEAN, 5S, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to create SOPs and implement structured processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman status and prior experience will be prioritized
  • Experience/Familiarity with PLCs
  • Experience/Familiarity maintenance tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Exposure to food/beverage or high-speed packaging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Engineering and Maintenance to align daily priorities with departmental goals.
  • Partner with the facilities technician, the greater Coldstream Clear team, and external vendors during equipment installs, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide clear documentation, feedback, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Utilize Monday.com for task management and communication, with weekly task completion reviews.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance throughput, quality, and safety.
  • Collaborate with the Production Engineer to design and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Support process creation and optimization for new production lines or equipment.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Apply LEAN methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and standardize workflows.
  • Support 5S infrastructure, and housekeeping initiatives to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workplace.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize PLCs, robotics, various types of filling & packaging machines, and automated systems.
  • Support new equipment installations, commissioning, and integration into production lines.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and adjustments on product blending & mixing equipment, bottling and canning lines, and warehouse systems.
  • Identify & execute preventative maintenance tasks to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of production equipment.
  • Document and track maintenance activities in alignment with facility standards.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions.
