About The Position

The Process Technician is responsible for ensuring that the employee handbook is followed, adhering to IATF 16949 Instructions, and ensuring adherence to the PPE policy and 5s principles. This role requires gaining and maintaining a complete understanding of all production-related jobs, production requirements, standard work, and other tasks as instructed by a supervisor. The technician contributes to building a positive team spirit, prioritizing team success over individual interests, and building morale and group commitments to goals and objectives. Safety is a top priority, and the technician must work within guidelines established by the Quality Control Department and customer requirements. They must maintain open communication with all employees and supervisor personnel, solve production problems, make necessary equipment adjustments, and maintain machine cycles. The role involves optimizing machine cycle times, monitoring and controlling product weight, color, and part thickness, and developing and documenting molding processes to ensure continuity. Minimizing molding defects through process improvements and corrective actions, meeting continuous improvement goals, and ensuring personnel safety are key responsibilities. The technician must follow cell layouts, be flexible with production needs, promote a positive attitude, and be courteous to all employees. Proficiency in computer programs like PLEX is required, along with utilizing root cause analysis for machine issues and performing basic problem-solving using electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. The role also includes teaching mechanical aptitude to others, promoting workplace safety by ensuring safety devices are functional, double-checking setup technician work, assisting with startups, documenting process changes, performing startup checks, fixing mold issues, and helping other technical departments with a "ONE TEAM" mentality. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required
  • Basic knowledge in electrical, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Must be able to operate, understand, and transfer knowledge of all machinery and equipment
  • Strong reading, mathematical, and communication skills required
  • Lock Out/Tag Out certification required
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Problem solving/Trouble Shooting

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the employee handbook is being followed
  • Follow all IATF 16949 Instructions
  • Ensures adherence to PPE policy and 5s principles
  • Gain and maintain a complete understanding of all production related jobs, production requirements, standard work, and other tasks which may be instructed to perform by your supervisor
  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interest and able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
  • First Response for first-aid or emergency situations
  • Document and report all incidents/accidents
  • Ensures the use of safe procedures and standard work
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery is operational and in good working order
  • Ergonomic awareness by coordinating press rotation and cell rotation
  • Understand lockout tagout location on machines and grinders
  • Must work within guidelines established by the Quality Control Department and customer requirements
  • Must maintain an open line of communication with all employees and other supervisor personnel
  • Required to solve production problems, make necessary equipment adjustments, and maintain machine cycles
  • Optimize machine cycle times by product
  • Monitor and control product weight, product color and product part thickness
  • Develop and document molding processes assuring their continuity
  • Minimize molding defects through process improvements and the implementation of a formal corrective action process
  • Meet or exceed continuous improvement goals and objectives
  • Responsible for personnel safety
  • Must follow cell layout per set-up book and product book
  • Must be flexible with production needs
  • Must promote a positive attitude and be courteous to all employees
  • Required to use certain computer programs and software such as PLEX
  • Utilizes root cause analysis to determine and correct machine issues
  • Performs basic problem solving using the understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Teaches and transfers knowledge of mechanical aptitude to others
  • Promotes safety in the workplace by assuring all electrical and mechanical guards and other safety devices are working and in place
  • Double check set up techs work before start up using check list
  • Work with setup tech on start ups to ensure best training practices
  • Document any changes to press in the process change log
  • Run up heads, double check blow pins and grease guide pins at this time
  • Fix any mold issues that occur during the production run
  • Willing to help in other technical departments with ONE TEAM mentality
  • Other duties as assigned
