About The Position

This role involves operating and maintaining plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment to produce bottles safely and with high quality. The technician will be responsible for processing adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce scrap, conducting quality checks, assisting with mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The position also requires accurate documentation, proper identification and handling of materials (regrind, purge, scrap), and effective communication of process information to the next shift. The company is a leading manufacturer of dispensing and specialty closures, metal containers, and custom-designed plastic containers for various markets.

Requirements

Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP, and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
Ability to operate a group of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
Ability to perform processing adjustments to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap.
Ability to make frequent, on-time quality checks on products.
Willingness to assist other operators and maintenance personnel on mechanical repairs.
Ability to perform assigned preventative maintenance work.
Ability to maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
Ability to complete and file all required documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
Ability to operate equipment to minimize the generation and maximize the consumption of regrind, purge, and scrap.
Ability to properly identify regrind and scrap produced.
Ability to communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift.
Ability to assist other operators as needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience with KHS, SIDEL, SIPA, SBM or similar blow molding machines.

Responsibilities

Comprehends, follows, and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP, and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
Participates in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.
Operates a group of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment, producing bottles in a safe and high-quality method (e.g., KHS, SIDEL, SIPA, SBM or similar).
Performs processing adjustments on blow molding machines to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap.
Conducts frequent and timely quality checks on manufactured products according to established quality standards.
Assists other operators and maintenance personnel with mechanical repairs.
Performs assigned preventative maintenance tasks as required.
Maintains the work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
Completes and files all required documentation in an organized and timely manner.
Operates equipment to minimize the generation and maximize the consumption of regrind, purge, and scrap.
Properly identifies regrind and scrap produced.
Communicates processing information to designated personnel on the incoming shift.
Assists other operators as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
