About The Position

Hubbell is seeking a Process Technician to support, troubleshoot, set-up, process, and repair molding equipment and/or tooling to ensure manufacturing meets all customer schedules. This role involves retrieving and installing molds, setting up heating and cooling systems, starting up molds using decoupled/scientific molding practices, inspecting sample parts, documenting process parameters, and troubleshooting process problems at the press. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area with an emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Good communication, reading, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with others
  • Willingness to support other operations or departments as needed
  • Must be comfortable wearing a bump cap, thermal sleeves and flame-resistant jacket, in addition to standard PPE
  • Must be comfortable working around hot molds/ovens
  • Must be comfortable handling hot parts
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly through the day
  • Frequent carrying of items up to 35 pounds
  • Gripping repeatedly with good physical dexterity
  • Constant walking and standing for a 12 hour shift
  • Reaching, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting and climbing stairs
  • Must be able to distinguish colors and shades, and have depth perception

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve prepared molds and installs into molding presses.
  • Secure mold to platen and sets up appropriate mold heating and cooling.
  • Proficiently starts up molds using decoupled/ scientific molding practices.
  • Inspect sample parts for surface and dimensional defects.
  • Accurately document process parameters.
  • Remove molds from the press and stage for disassembly.
  • Troubleshoot and correct process problems at the press.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Successfully complete job specific RCRA / DOT training, as required.
