About The Position

The Process Technician is responsible for controlling and executing elements of an extrusion process including raw material and finished goods logistics; process addition and mixing of raw materials, and packaging process responsibilities include monitoring of critical control points and ensuring finished goods packaging and pallets meet customer expectations. The role holder will have significant levels of autonomy to make decisions and solve problems around the process. These will include setup, operation, routine preventative maintenance, and sanitation of equipment and areas of responsibility. Objectives include safely providing the highest quality product within specifications with the least amount of waste and ensuring that the plant is available to always meet the planned production levels while ensuring strict compliance with Health and Safety and housekeeping requirements. This level of technician can complete batch folders, confirm DAX accuracy of batches, and log batch data in the correct folders. A technician will need to utilize Microsoft Dynamics AX to accurately track, consume, and create finished products in our database system.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 4 years’ production experience in a manufacturing environment (food or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred)
  • Competent in all DAX operations including consumptions, job closures, DAX problem solving, DAX job tracking
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Analytical skills, good judgement, and demonstrated decision making skills
  • Ability to use advanced hand tools and perform basic maintenance tasks
  • Capable of doing basic math and rudimentary algebra
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and plans
  • Proficiency with US measurement equipment
  • Understanding of mechanical systems
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to safely operate an FLT to load, unload, and move raw material and finished product around the plant
  • Ability to safely operate both the scissor lift and boom lift to assist in maintenance tasks and perform in-depth cleaning
  • Trained and competent in both the scissor lift and boom lift
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Controlling and executing elements of an extrusion process
  • Managing raw material and finished goods logistics
  • Adding and mixing raw materials
  • Monitoring critical control points in the packaging process
  • Ensuring finished goods packaging and pallets meet customer expectations
  • Setup, operation, routine preventative maintenance, and sanitation of equipment
  • Completing batch folders
  • Confirming DAX accuracy of batches
  • Logging batch data in correct folders
  • Utilizing Microsoft Dynamics AX to accurately track, consume, and create finished products
  • Performing all labs on finished goods product and recording them successfully on documentation
  • Performing material movements, pick/puts, and material consumptions in DAX
  • Clearing production areas after a batch is completed
  • Managing production lines from the start of the process to the staging of finished product with 100% accuracy of batches
  • Performing HMI and mechanical problem-solving to course correct and prevent unplanned downtime
  • Stepping in to perform Lead Technician responsibilities for short periods, including monitoring and production of multiple production lines simultaneously
  • Performing technical tasks related to bucket elevator timing, including resetting buckets, adjusting chain, and adjusting tension
