Process Technician - Blow Molding

About The Position

As a Process Technician, you will be the technical backbone of our molding department. You are responsible for the setup, stabilization, and optimization of complex molding processes for consumer products and beverage bottles. We are looking for a "Scientific Molder" who goes beyond "turning knobs" to understand the why behind the material and process behavior.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on processing experience in a high-volume blow molding environment
Strong understanding of Molding methodologies.
Proficiency with major press brands (e.g., Sipa, Sidel, Uniloy, Jomar) and their respective control systems.
Deep knowledge of resins (e.g., PET, Nylon/GF, PC/ABS) and their specific processing requirements.
Ability to identify mold issues (venting, cooling, gate wear) versus processing issues.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain robust "decoupled" molding processes (Scientific Molding) to ensure consistent part quality and cycle time optimization.
Diagnose and resolve complex molding issues (e.g., flash, splay, short shots, dimensional instability) using root-cause analysis rather than "trial and error."
Work closely with Engineering during mold trials (sampling) to define the process window and provide feedback on mold design and functionality.
Coordinate with the automation team to ensure 3-axis or 6-axis robots (end-of-arm tooling) are synchronized with the press for seamless part extraction.
Ensure all processes adhere to quality standards. Perform first-piece inspections and monitor SPC (Statistical Process Control) data to prevent defects.
Act as a technical lead for junior technicians and operators, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety.
