About The Position

ReSource is developing a proprietary technology to produce the first bioplastic from sustainable feedstocks that outperforms incumbent materials without environmental burden or health risks. We are commercializing an industrially scalable process for producing FDCA, a naturally occurring chemical that replaces the petrochemical monomer PTA used to make polyesters like PET. Polyesters made using FDCA have superior properties and are 100% recyclable. FDCA is a platform molecule for various polymers and specialty chemicals. ReSource produces FDCA from CO2 and inedible biomass, reducing production cost and enabling rapid scale-up. The company is based in Oakland, CA, and is backed by leading investors. We are preparing to commence pilot and demo-scale production.

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and effective teamwork. This role involves supporting operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring process efficiency and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 2–3 years of relevant industrial experience

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating pilot-scale high-pressure reactor systems
• Hands-on experience with sanitary tank operation and related process equipment
• Knowledge of separation, purification, and drying techniques
• Familiarity with continuous process optimization and operations
• Basic machine shop skills
• Experience supporting specification and procurement of process components (e.g., pumps, valves, instrumentation, mixing tanks, heat exchangers)

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot large-scale sanitary tanks (~400 gallons) and associated equipment
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper material handling and lifting techniques (up to 50 lbs.)
• Support data collection and documentation for process validation activities
• Assist with timely delivery of products to partners and customers
• Contribute to process hazard assessments and implementation of mitigation measures
