About The Position

ExxonMobil is seeking candidates to enter the Apprenticeship Program for Process Technicians at the Baytown Chemical Plant located in Baytown, Texas. Process Technicians will operate and monitor process equipment in a safe, reliable and environmentally sound manner. This role is part of a 54-month Process Technician Apprenticeship Program which includes 8 weeks of Basic Operator Training (classroom and field), timely qualification on initial and subsequent post assignments, and continued education milestones. Veterans participating in the apprenticeship can draw their GI Bill benefits.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of the ExxonMobil pre-employment test
  • Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, and drug screening
  • Must possess valid Drivers License.
  • Able and willing to work a rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime (may be forced to meet business needs)
  • Able and willing to work in inclement weather, climb structures, perform work at heights, and in enclosed spaces
  • Able and willing to work both independently in remote locations and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform duties with strict adherence to procedures, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and company policy.
  • Ownership of personal safety and safety of co-workers.
  • Work a rotating shift schedule in a team environment.
  • Obtain unit qualification within specified time and maintain all post training requirements.
  • Conduct operator surveillance rounds, record data, and catch unit product samples for field or laboratory analysis.
  • Operate and maintain unit equipment, open / close valves of various sizes, and prepare process equipment for maintenance.
  • Process equipment includes, but is not limited to the following: pumps compressors, furnaces, towers, reactors, heat exchangers, filters, and associated piping.
  • Perform primary emergency response duties assigned per job post requirements.
