Role Purpose: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Process Technician Lead to join our team at American Panel Solutions, a leading solar manufacturing plant. The Process Technician Lead will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role will act as a bridge between the production team and management, providing leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to a team of process technicians. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and experience in manufacturing, with a focus on continuous improvement and driving operational excellence in solar panel or renewable energy production.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree. Manufacturing, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, or production, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience in solar manufacturing or a similar industry is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of packaging processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using packaging machinery and tools.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards in manufacturing (e.g., OSHA, ISO, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and inventory management software.
  • Understanding of solar panel manufacturing processes and terminology.
  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of process technicians, providing support, training, and performance feedback to ensure team success.
  • Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting, escalations, and resolution of process or equipment-related issues.
  • Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to process technicians to ensure smooth operations and adherence to production schedules.
  • Oversee the setup, calibration, and operation of manufacturing equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or process deviations in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of process changes, production data, and maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to schedule and perform preventive maintenance to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and lead by example to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
