Process Technician I (Pail)
About The Position
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Process Technician position is responsible for efficient mold/machine set-ups and is a resource for mold and equipment repairs. This role assists in plant production and quality assurance while maintaining processes and maximizing machine performance, safety, and quality. The technician optimizes the use of automation, assists in mold changeovers and preventative maintenance, and conducts mold/machine/material testing. They maintain a safe work environment, provide ongoing technical support to plant operations to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and delivery performance, and support Plant EIPs (Earnings Improvement Program). The role also includes completing machine start-ups after mold changes, submitting start-up parts to QC for inspection, and adjusting processes as required to maintain dimensions to specifications.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of the molding process, molding equipment, molding materials and mold tooling
- Ability to react to situations in a timely manner and be flexible with people and operational assets
- Troubleshoot operating and related process equipment and recommend solutions.
- Must have good problem-solving and reasoning skills
- Evaluate design proposals and implementation
- Maintain process documentation.
- Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and material specifications.
- Be able to read mold prints
- Be creative, organized self-starter that can work with little or no supervision
- Requires good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a cooperative environment.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervision
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write and communicate
- Must be able to work safely in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
