About The Position

The Process Technician 1 plays a critical role in supporting the safe and efficient manufacturing, handling, testing, and disposal of pyrotechnic materials and components. This position ensures adherence to strict regulatory, safety, and quality standards while contributing to production schedules and operational objectives. Working under close supervision, the Process Technician 1 collaborates with engineering, operations, and safety teams to maintain controlled processes and ensure reliable product performance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent, e.g., GED) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
  • Ability to safely handle and process pyrotechnic or hazardous materials in compliance with safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with manufacturing processes or handling materials in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD), aerospace, or defense manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and assemble pyrotechnic components and materials following established procedures.
  • Operate simple hand tools and machinery in compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Handle and process chemicals and pyrotechnic materials in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Accurately follow procedures, work instructions, and routing documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper storage and handling of materials.
  • Conduct testing and inspection of components to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Assist in the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including solvents and pyrotechnic materials, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document work activities and results, including completing required logs and data sheets.
