About The Position

The Process Tech is responsible for overseeing the tools and fixtures of our customers, including input on tooling maintenance, and supplying production data and assisting with resolution of production problems. This role also focuses on plant safety, meeting Bill of Materials (BOM) standards, identifying and resolving mold, press, and molding issues, and completing workstation data collection. The Process Tech will communicate shift events, maintain cleanliness of work areas, and validate proper set-up of production workstations. They will also assist in establishing or improving plant work instructions and operations, and oversee staff compliance with procedures, especially on off shifts. Detailed reporting is a key aspect of this role, including Workstation Reports, Mold Preventative Evaluations (MPE), Cycle Adjustment forms, BOM discrepancies, and Process Cycle Sheets.

  • Ability to complete detailed reports (Workstation Reports, MPE, Cycle Adjustment forms, BOM discrepancies, Process Cycle Sheets).

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing customer tools and fixtures, including input on tooling maintenance.
  • Supplying production data and assisting with resolution of production problems.
  • Ensuring plant safety, primarily at workstations.
  • Meeting set standards of Bill of Materials (BOM) on each production run and communicating discrepancies.
  • Identifying mold, press, and molding issues that prevent efficient operations and resolving them.
  • Documenting resolutions and communicating them to supervision on Workstation Reports.
  • Completing all workstation data collection daily or as required by procedures.
  • Communicating shift events to supervision/management that adversely affect operations, procedure compliance, or company rules.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Identifying and rectifying any unsafe situations.
  • Validating proper set-up of each production workstation according to process sheets, work instructions, and IPCP.
  • Starting production runs from short shot to full shot, meeting quality specifications and BOM requirements.
  • Ensuring presses run continually without cycle interruptions unless documented otherwise.
  • Assisting with establishing or improving plant work instructions and operations.
  • Overseeing staff compliance with work instruction procedures, including dress codes, safety, quality, material handling, housekeeping, and company rules, especially on off shifts.
  • Completing Detailed Workstation Reports.
  • Completing Detailed Mold Preventative Evaluations (MPE).
  • Completing Cycle Adjustment forms.
  • Submitting Maintenance Work Orders.
  • Reporting BOM discrepancies to the Engineering department.
  • Completing a Process Cycle Sheet when necessary.
