About The Position

Zachry Engineering Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Process Technician to support the Process Engineering team in the development, design, and execution of industrial projects. The Process Technician will assist engineers with process calculations, preparation of engineering deliverables, data analysis, process documentation, and plant design activities for projects across the energy, chemical, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience supporting industrial, chemical, energy, power, oil & gas, manufacturing, or EPC projects.
  • Strong understanding of industrial process systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an engineering consulting or EPC environment.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Aspen HYSYS, or other process engineering software.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations including OSHA, API, ASME, and NFPA.
  • Experience supporting refinery, petrochemical, chemical processing, LNG, power generation, or industrial facility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support Process Engineers in developing and maintaining process design documentation.
  • Prepare and revise process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), heat and material balances, and process datasheets.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze process data to support engineering studies and project execution.
  • Assist with equipment sizing calculations for pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, compressors, and related process equipment.
  • Review vendor documentation and technical specifications for compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, Civil/Structural, and Piping.
  • Maintain project documentation, records, and engineering files in accordance with company standards.
  • Support process hazard analyses (PHA), HAZOP studies, and safety reviews.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with action item tracking and follow-up.
  • Assist with plant startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational support when required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
