About The Position

The Process Technician ensures that the quality of products remains within tolerance to assure consistent production of castings within design specifications and tolerance. This role supports production through the improvement of caster efficiency and scrap reduction, monitors caster operation to identify opportunities for process improvement, and completes process-related projects. The technician also trains and assists manufacturing with new and existing product launches, completes process reviews and tooling conditions, and implements solutions within defined boundaries. Communication of process improvements and project results to management is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions.
  • Ability to write and complete required paperwork.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the company.
  • Possess problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with computerized equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Making sure that work is done correctly, completely, and to the highest standards.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Melt experience is preferred.
  • Previous Spectrometer work is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist production through the improvement of caster efficiency and scrap reduction.
  • Support production with running to process.
  • Monitor caster operation to assist in scrap reduction by seeking and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Complete process-related projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Train and assist manufacturing assuring successful launch of new and existing products.
  • Completes process review and tooling conditions supporting plant operations.
  • Completes Thermal reviews and reports to management team.
  • Implement solutions within defined and limited boundaries.
  • Assist other Process members with projects.
  • Communicate process improvements and project results to members of management.
  • Understand cause and effect of defects and their detection.
  • Other duties as assigned.
