About The Position

This position reports to the Team Lead-Stamping and Team Supervisor-Stamping. The primary responsibility is to competently set dies and prepare them for production. The role requires the ability to understand and program cam settings, die protection, and stage dies and accessories accurately. The individual will install chutes and conveyors, clean dies thoroughly before setting them on the bolster, and record any issues found with dies or accessories. This role also involves training operators on proper setup practices and ensuring dies, chutes, and conveyors are returned to their proper storage locations. The Process Tech will run all presses competently, continuously seek ways to improve setup efficiency, accurately create or update process sheets, and ensure probe checks are done accurately at the start of the shift. A flexible work schedule and/or overtime may be required based on company needs.

Always be conscious of the safety implications of one's actions; consistently observe safety regulations and wear required safety equipment. Do not jeopardize one's own safety or others in any way. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas assigned by the company. Immediately report all near misses, safety concerns and accidents. Safely and efficiently use any assigned equipment.
  • Participate in and support lean manufacturing programs and principles with a focus to reduce costs with quality product such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Suggestion System, etc. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement to continually strive to improve our processes and procedures. Adhere to 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
  • Employee is responsible for complying and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool & Die, Inc. (BTD). Employee may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment. Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently sets die from start to finish with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to understand and adequately program cam settings and die protection correctly.
  • Stage dies and accessories accurately prior to setup.
  • Initiates startup improvement form at beginning of setup.
  • Properly installs all chutes and conveyors.
  • Cleans die thoroughly before setting it on the bolster.
  • During teardown, records any issues found with die or accessories on startup improvement form.
  • Adequately trains operators on proper setup practices.
  • Put chutes, conveyors, and dies back in the proper storage location during teardown.
  • Competently runs all presses.
  • Constantly looks for ways to make setup more efficient.
  • Accurately creates or updates process sheets.
  • Ensures probe checks are done accurately at start of shift.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned with enthusiasm and without complaint.
