About The Position
This role involves managing and operating plastic injection molding equipment. Key responsibilities include performing changeovers on presses and secondary equipment, ensuring efficient and safe operations, maintaining inventory for customer shipments, performing daily mold preventative maintenance, and writing work orders for maintenance. The position also requires ensuring the correct resin is used, operating resin dryer systems, troubleshooting press issues, adjusting settings for part quality, and adjusting robots and sprue pickers for proper part handling. The role includes starting up and shutting down various production equipment such as chillers, compressors, resin dryers, presses, and secondary equipment.
Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, procedures and/or work instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of management, associates, customers, and public.
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Regularly required to stand; move around the plant; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of six months to 1 year experience in plastic operations.
Responsibilities
- Change over plastic injection presses and secondary equipment with consideration of all safety aspects.
- Perform change overs with different clamping systems (magnetic platens, clamps, spigeots) in the most efficient and safest way.
- Keep an overview of the inventory to ensure customer shipments.
- Performing daily mold PM’s.
- Write work orders for maintenance personnel in the instance of equipment breakdowns.
- Ensure the proper resin is used during press changeover.
- Ability to use the different resin dryer systems.
- Perform troubleshooting on presses.
- Ability to adjust settings when needed, i.e. quality of parts changed.
- Adjust robots to ensure the correct handling of parts without damaging the product.
- Adjustment of robots and sprue pickers.
- Able to start up and shut down production, including: chillers, compressors, resin dryers, presses, and secondary equipment.
