Requirements

  • Completed second year Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Electrical & Computer engineering with coursework and/or experience related to process automation and controls, industrial automation systems, relational databases, graphical user interface and front-end development.
  • Experience with technical computing and data analysis in Python.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and share ideas.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn, especially in fast-paced or evolving technical environments.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and contribute to creative solutions.
  • Team-oriented attitude, with a focus on collaboration, respect, and mutual support.
  • Time management and organizational skills, to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in both technical and non-technical work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OSI-PI, Asset Framework and PI Vision
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Bokeh or ParaView
  • Experience with formulating SQL queries
  • Experience in web app development; FastAPI, React, Streamlit.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a positive safety culture.
  • Identify, report and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace.
  • Ensure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with company policy.
  • Support the adoption and maintenance of various data apps.
  • Maintain and improve the implementation of process metrics, diagnostics and associated visualizations.
  • Support the integration and testing of advanced process controls and soft sensors.
  • Support data migration, and end-user adoption for published apps.
  • Contribute to Continuous improvement of in-house apps.
  • Validate and Maintain asset templates that reflect their functional/logical attributes.
  • Demonstrate, test and refine with feedback from target audience.
  • Using plant simulations, test supervisory control strategies and integration thereof.
  • Support the development and testing of soft-sensor systems which intelligently combine information from data historian, process models, lab tests and real-time instrumentation.
