About The Position

Communicates and resolves manufacturing related issues in a fast-paced environment while supporting the Quality and Manufacturing functions by educating employees on quality systems, quality metrics, and customer engineering. Ensures that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards internally as well as externally. Works with a diverse group of team members in a collaborative method.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management or related field or equivalent work experience, preferably in the Aerospace Industry
Minimum of 3 years of knowledge and experience in the Quality Assurance field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact and deal with internal and external customers
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements.
Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group environments
Must be an engaged leader with a “hands on” approach to process improvement
Fully understanding the financial impact of decisions made on a daily basis, including closely monitored non-value added cost in an effort to reduce or eliminate.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Responsibilities

Provide training, learning and development where appropriate for all employees
Provide training as required in quality system concepts, audit techniques, approaches corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities.
Partner with other departments to ensure the adherence to the Quality Management System and other compliance requirements.
Collaborates with operations, leaders, purchasing, customer service and others to efficiently meet customer demand.
Supports all regulatory and customer quality audits as needed
Provide visibility to management of potential manufacturing issues, as well as input on internal perceptions associated with Quality and Delivery performance.
Works with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance personnel to perform in process review and assure best practices are followed.
Works with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance to implement cost savings through VSM exercises, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Review applicable organizational policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and relevance, communicating policy and procedure updates and changes
Performs other related duties, as required
Works as the interim QE when the position is vacant and handles customer escapes and customer RCCAs.
Has the capability to troubleshoot complex and questionable manufacturing issues by asking the right questions to get to the root cause of the problem
Makes decisions based on customer/regulatory/internal requirements
Confer with organizational team members at all levels to discuss issues, coordinate activities or resolve problems.
Implement corrective actions to address organizational or departmental issues.
Work closely with shop floor leadership and employees
Analyze customer miss-deliveries in order to propose improvement action plans: Define and optimize data gathering and exchange to ensure data integrity in systems.
Assess and report project opportunities, risks and potential solutions.
