About The Position

UGN is seeking a Process Specialist to join their team in Monroe, Ohio. This role is crucial for determining optimum process conditions, initiating process improvements to maximize manufacturing output and reduce costs, and developing Standard Operating Procedures. The Process Specialist will also contribute to interdepartmental programs, assist in cost reduction initiatives, and train team members on The Toyota Production System (TPS). The position involves investigating problems, formulating solutions, coordinating contractor activities, visiting customers and suppliers for quality defect analysis, performing capacity studies, researching equipment, and performing programming changes to robots. The role requires maintaining regular attendance and punctuality, with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3+ years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or members of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications--Word, Excel, Access, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Design software; Development software; Internet software; and Project Management software.

Responsibilities

  • Determine optimum process conditions for new and existing products.
  • Initiate process improvements to maximize manufacturing output and reduce costs.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (work instructions) for processes and equipment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of interdepartmental programs.
  • Assist in the implementation of process improvement and cost reduction programs.
  • Understand all aspects of TPS and use this knowledge to train other team members.
  • Investigate problems and formulate solutions.
  • Coordinate activities of contractors and vendors.
  • Visit customers, suppliers and vendors as needed for quality defect analysis and solution implementation.
  • Perform capacity studies on all plant processes.
  • Research best equipment for application along with costs.
  • Perform programming changes to robots as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
